A huge congratulations to Charlotte Hooper who has won our first ever Volunteer of the Year Award!

Charlotte received the award at our Chatbot’s 1st Birthday Party event - our annual volunteer get together - last night.

Our volunteers perform a range of roles, but the vast majority are Helpline Responders who work directly with victims of cyber-crime and online security issues to help them recover. Charlotte approached us in February about volunteering and a potential student placement for her degree in Policing & Criminal Justice.

Charlotte has quickly become one of our top Helpline Responders having dealt with a high volume of cases, but also supporting other cases by providing security recommendations for securing victims online footprint. On top of her front line work, Charlotte has supported a number of projects including the Yorkshire & Humber police pilot, research for a TV show we have been helping to make, researching the laws relevant to the cyber-attacks we work with and a number of internal projects aimed at making us better at what we do.

You can read more about Charlotte in her Q&A in our recent blog post.

Congratulations Charlotte!

To ensure everyone in the UK has free expert cyber security advice when they need it we need more volunteers. We want a UK where the cyber criminals don’t win. If you are interested in volunteering with us then please get in touch.
