Cybersecurity Awareness Month: Raising funds for victims

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Since 2004, October has set the challenge to the cybersecurity community to help individuals protect themselves online. This is obviously an initiative very close to our hearts at The Cyber Helpline.

Millions of victims every year are suffering as a result of being scammed, cyberstalked, harassed online and more. This has a huge impact on victim’s mental health, online confidence, personal safety and finances.

This October we are setting the challenge to the cybersecurity community, victims of cybercrime and our supporters to take on a fundraising challenge for us. We are hoping this will raise vital funds to help us run and grow our service so we can help more victims.

We are hoping to have 100 individuals in the UK and 100 individuals take on a fundraising challenge during October raising £250 each. This would raise £50,000 and would allow us to add more volunteers to our helpdesk and allow us to help many more victims.

How to get involved

You can learn more about our plans for October here. You can take on any fundraising challenge you like and start raising donations by creating a JustGiving fundraising page. We are also planning to organise a large sponsored walk in London - watch out for more locations - which anyone is free to take part in.

Make a difference this October. Fundraise for us and help victims of cybercrime and online harm.
