Role Summary
The Finance Assistant supports the leadership team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day financial processes. This role involves tasks such as processing invoices and expense claims, reconciling accounts, maintaining financial databases, assisting with payroll, and supporting budget preparation and audits.
The Finance Assistant works closely with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and provides timely and accurate financial information to aid decision-making. Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and proficiency in financial software are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
Tracking and projecting cash flow
Tracking and projecting profit & loss
Reporting key financial KPIs
Ensure tracking of spending against restricted funds
Supporting annual accounts preparation
Setting up and running payroll
Sending & tracking invoices
Bank account transaction monitoring
Review and adhere to department budgets
Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
Adhere to the company’s or organisation’s financial policies and procedures
Answers questions and provide assistance to stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed
Attend company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives
Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field (could still be undergraduate)
