Cyberstalking Specialist (Part-Time)

Location: This role is a remote working role (UK-applicants only)
Role Summary
The Cyberstalking Specialist will work directly with high-risk victims of stalking and domestic abuse, providing practical, empathetic support to help them understand, contain, recover and learn from incidents. This communication will take place over phone and email.
The Cyberstalking Specialist will:
Work to understand the service user’s cyber issue.
Explain what has happened to the service user.
Advise on safe and appropriate next steps for containment and recovery.
Provide details of support the individual could seek to help support their issue from 3rd parties.
Liase with law enforcement or third parties where necessary
The Cyberstalking Specialist will not provide:
Any remote technical support to fix the issue – we will simply help them understand what the issue is, what options they have, recommend a course of action and then provide content to help them fix the issue.
Any legal advice.
Any in-person support to fix the issue.
Endorse any services or solutions where due diligence has not been performed.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a case load of service users to help them understand, contain, recover and learn from cyber security incidents.
Follow The Cyber Helpline’s playbooks and processes to ensure consistent and high quality support.
Maintain accurate and timely case records
Collaborate with external organisations
Help individuals regain safety and confidence through education and empowerment.
Person Specification
Essential
A relevant qualification (We will accept third year university students with degrees such as IT, cyber security, computer science, criminology, law, etc.)
Experience in the cyber security industry OR a demonstrable interest in cyber security
Strong understanding of digital tools, platforms, technology and cyber security concepts
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
A personal IT infrastructure able to make online calls and access online systems
Excellent written and verbal English
Strong attention to detail
Empathetic, calm and professional communication style
Ability to follow procedures and support user-informed decision-making
Experience handling sensitive/confidential information
An awareness of GDPR and good data handling practices
Preferred
Customer service or helpline experience
Experience using helpdesks or case management systems (Zendesk is a plus)
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals
Familiarity with mental health and trauma-informed practicies
